The training team at Archway
enjoys the consistancy that only
multigenerational trainers
can bring to a program.

Between mother (Clare) and daughters (Corey and Krista) the philosophy of the programs (from beginners to advanced) build on themselves to establish a solid foundation in both the rider or their horse that is in training.

to her partners, Corey Smith and Krista Barker. 
Clare, a respected show manager
and past board member of the Washington State Hunter and Jumper Association oversees both the coaching
 and barn management.
Her uncompromising attention to details
in the horses and ponies feed and herb program incorporates both holistic and traditional medical practices.
 

Corey Smith, a rider since the age of six.
Corey has experience from the pony divisions
to the Grand Prix field. 
A very technically correct rider, she has shaped her athleticism through riding both the irrasabile “naughty” ones to the young and inexperienced horse. 
She meticulously builds the individual training programs for the show horses in the barn and knows every animal’s likes and dislikes.
    Also a past Board member of the Washington State Hunter and Jumper Association, she enjoys watching her eight year old daughter, Payton start her career on her show pony.

Krista Barker understands when to push the young riders and when to step back and let them work things out for themselves.
 A mother of two, she is incredible at giving the sensitive horses an intuitive, quiet ride, 
getting the best out of every one of them.
Like her sister, Corey, she has been riding all of her life and has built the lesson program from the ground up. She is equally at home in the office or the barn, but divides her time between training rides at home, office management and professionally riding at the shows.
